Dr. Stokes has been appointed as a Civil Surgeon by the Department of Homeland Security with authority to examine and provide documentation for the Immigration process of the United States. Below includes some helpful information to make the process go more smoothly.
1) It is best if the applicant has all the necessary immunizations with DOCUMENTATION before coming to the office for the exam. This will save much of the applicant's time.
2) A recent TB skin test within one month (if the applicant has not had a previous positive TB skin test) will speed the process.
3) The lab tests (HIV and Syphilis) take 2 days to come from the lab. This is the minimal time and the exam cannot be processed unless special arrangements are made.
4) The charge for the exam is to be paid at the time of service. It can not be processed through health care plans or third parties. Cash or credit cards please, we do not accept checks for immigration physicals.
5) The applicant must be fluent in English or have an interpreter who is fluent in English during the examination process.
THE IMMIGRATION EXAM IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR A FACE TO FACE EVALUATION FROM YOUR PHYSICIAN TO EVALUATE YOUR PHYSICAL WELL BEING. This exam is only designed to evaluate the applicant for specific contagious diseases and is not an evaluation and treatment of any possible medical conditions.
